Office Network Installation Cost in Indonesia: Per-Point Rates, Hardware, and a Worked Example

Office network installation cost in Indonesia runs about Rp18โ30 million for a 20-point office, hardware included. Broken down per point, the labour to pull and terminate one cable run is Rp150,000โ250,000. A small office of five to ten desks that can live with the ISP-supplied router and a single access point finishes at Rp4โ9 million. The spread is wide, and the reason is almost never the cable brand. It is what the vendor means by one point.
Two quotes for the same floor can differ threefold on that alone. Settle the definition before you compare the numbers.
What counts as one point
Indonesian quotes price cabling per titik, meaning per point. One point is one wall outlet ready to use: cable pulled from the rack to the desk, terminated at both ends, faceplate fitted, then tested. Some vendors price the labour only, at Rp150,000โ250,000, and bill materials separately. Others quote all-in at Rp300,000โ450,000 per point. Both are normal practice. Putting the two figures side by side in a spreadsheet and picking the lower one is not.
Ask every vendor the same sentence: does this per-point price include cable, faceplate, and conduit?
Office network installation cost by size of office
Headcount matters less than floors and ceiling type. Pulling cable above a removable gypsum ceiling is quick work. Drilling through concrete, or retrofitting a ruko โ the shophouse layout most Indonesian small offices occupy โ where the ceiling is already closed, adds 30โ40 percent to the labour line.
Installation cost by office size (Sidoarjo and Surabaya, September 2026)
| Office size | Reasonable scope | Cost range | Time on site |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5โ10 points, one floor | An 8โ16 port switch, one access point, no rack | Rp4โ9 million | 1โ2 days |
| 15โ25 points, one to two floors | 9U rack, patch panel, 24-port switch, 2โ3 access points | Rp18โ30 million | 3โ5 days |
| 30โ50 points, two to three floors | Fibre backbone between floors, two switches, 4โ6 access points, UPS | Rp45โ85 million | 1โ2 weeks |
| Above 60 points | Separate server room, core and access switches, VLANs, monitoring | Rp100 million and up | 3 weeks and up |
Excludes VAT, survey fees, and out-of-hours rates. Hardware tracks the exchange rate, so re-check at quotation time.
Those durations assume the crew has the floor to itself during business hours. Where cabling has to happen after closing so operations are not disrupted, budget another 20โ30 percent for out-of-hours rates.
Hardware and materials, line by line
Unit prices below reflect the Sidoarjo and Surabaya market as of September 2026, for new equipment with a warranty.
- Cat6 UTP cable: Rp6,000โ10,000 per metre; a 305-metre roll is Rp1.8โ3 million
- Faceplate and keystone: Rp35,000โ75,000 per point
- Conduit or cable tray: Rp15,000โ50,000 per metre
- 24-port patch panel: Rp400,000โ900,000
- 9U wall-mount rack: Rp1โ2.5 million
- Switch: unmanaged 8โ16 port Rp400,000โ1.5 million; managed 24-port Rp2.5โ4 million
- Router or gateway: Rp800,000โ2.5 million
- Business-grade access point: Rp1โ2.5 million per unit
- Pulling and termination labour: Rp150,000โ250,000 per point
Of everything on that list, cable and termination labour are the expensive things to get wrong. Swapping a switch takes five minutes. Replacing cable of the wrong specification means opening the ceiling again and paying to pull it twice. Switches and access points, by contrast, can be bought in stages: start modest, upgrade as desks are added.
A worked example: a 20-person office in Sidoarjo
A distributor in the Candi area occupies a two-floor ruko. Twenty desks across both floors, plus a back warehouse that needs signal for stock scanners. The quote breaks down like this.
- Pulling and terminating 20 points at Rp200,000 each โ Rp4,000,000
- Two rolls of Cat6 UTP cable at Rp2,100,000 each โ Rp4,200,000
- Twenty faceplate and keystone sets at Rp55,000 each โ Rp1,100,000
- Conduit, 120 metres at Rp25,000 per metre โ Rp3,000,000
- 24-port patch panel โ Rp650,000
- Managed 24-port switch โ Rp3,200,000
- 9U wall-mount rack โ Rp1,600,000
- Router or gateway โ Rp1,200,000
- Three access points at Rp1,600,000 each โ Rp4,800,000
- Configuration, labelling, and documentation โ Rp1,500,000
That totals Rp25,250,000 before VAT. Item ten is the one clients cut most often, and it is an expensive saving: with no labels and no cable map, the next technician, whoever that turns out to be, starts from zero every time a port goes dead.
If the office is new and you do not yet know how many points it needs, a floor plan and a desk count are enough for a first estimate. A site survey only matters once the quote is being finalised, and it belongs to the office network and hardware installation work, usually completed in a single visit.
Where to spend, where not to
In our experience most offices under 25 points do not need a managed switch in year one. The difference is around Rp2 million, and the features being paid for โ VLANs, port mirroring, QoS โ only earn their keep once somebody is actually watching the network. Buy a good unmanaged switch and move the difference into cable quality and one more access point.
The cost of that choice is real. On an unmanaged switch guest wifi cannot be separated from internal traffic, and when one device floods the network, finding it means unplugging cables one at a time. At 15 staff that is ten irritating minutes. At 60 staff it is reason enough to pay up front.
One thing planning often misses: if the application server is going to move to cloud anyway, the rack and UPS requirement at the office shrinks considerably, and that budget can shift to better cable. To settle the sequence first, an IT planning conversation costs far less than opening the ceiling twice.
